  Chapter 1

  After Logic's and Teddy's meeting of the minds earlier that day, it didn’t take long for Jade to sense that the shit was quickly hitting the fan and exploding in Queen’s beautiful face. So she felt it prudent to give Queen some sisterly advice before they left for Teddy's party.

  “Queen, come help me with my hair she called from her bedroom.”

  Queen knew that Jade didn’t really need her help, but she welcomed the chance for some uninterrupted girl talk. As she entered the room she found Jade flat ironing her hair.

  “What do you need me to do?”

  “Close the door and lock it. We need to talk.”

  Queen immediately pulled the door closed and locked it behind her.

  “So, what’s the story? Should we pack our shit now or wait for Logic to toss our rent free asses out in the street with you? Tell me something, because I need to know.”

  Queen laughed. “What are you talking about? Logic wouldn’t do that, besides the house is in my name. My mother taught me better than that.”

  “So did they have the stop fucking Queen… no you stop fucking Queen talk or what?”

  “Unfortunately, yes they did.”

  “So, what was the verdict? They came back acting like BFFs, so what’s the deal?”

  “Basically, they decided to force me to choose one or the other.”

  “The ball has been on that side of the court for almost a year now. What are you going to do? I heard the two of you in there having an afternoon delight. So does this mean you are finally going to end this thing with Teddy?”

  “More like Teddy is going to end this thing with me. He told me if I didn’t meet him at Queen’s Palace this afternoon then he was going to make up my mind for me.” Queen sighed as she brushed her hair in the mirror. “So, I think it may finally be over between us.”

  “Oh yeah, when was this?”

  “I was supposed to have been there over two hours ago. So I’m sure he’s good and pissed by now, but I told him that I wasn’t coming. I couldn’t do that to Logic. I promised him that I was going to stop fucking Teddy and act like I was engaged to be married.”

  “So, how is that going to work out with him in Vegas and you here in LA and what about Professor X?”

  “The only Professor that Logic needs to know anything about is the one on Gilligan’s Island.”

  “What the hell is Gilligan’s Island?”

  “It’s an old TV sitcom from the sixties or some shit. Haven’t you ever seen the reruns on cable?”

  “You know that I don’t watch TV like that. All I’m saying is don’t jump off a black horse to ride the white pony and think that it’s okay, because it’s not. And please tell me that you haven't already had a pony ride.”

  “No I haven’t… but it wasn’t because I didn’t try. I tried last week, but He wasn’t having it. He sent my ass home, alone, hot and bothered.”

  “Thank God somebody has common sense. Queen, you don’t have to put every dick that flies by in your mouth. Damn, leave some for the rest of the sistas.”

  “Yeah I know. I never thought that I’d see the day that I would be the hoe in this dynamic duo.” Queen laughed.

  “You? I think you’re about to tie my record for stringing niggas on a chain.”

  “Yeah, but this is different. I care about them. I’m not using them. I actually want to be with them.”

  “The hell if you’re not using them. You’re using them to keep that spot between your thighs hot and wet.” Jade laughed.

  “It’s not just about the sex. Hell, I haven’t even had sex with X yet. I don’t know, they each do something different for me. It’s hard to explain.”

  “Well you don’t have to explain it to me, because I know exactly what you mean. But if Logic or Teddy finds out about Professor X you’d better be able to explain it to them, because they’re going to beat your ass. And the fact that he’s a white boy is not going to make it any easier to explain.”

  “Nothing really happened. We just went out a few times.”

  “Queen, save that bullshit for them, because I know the truth. And the truth is that if either one of them did the exact same thing that you did you’d be fuckin pissed.”

  “Yeah that’s because neither one of them would go out with someone twenty times and not get some nook – nook.”

  “Hell, neither one of those two niggas would go out with somebody three times without at least getting their dicks sucked.” Jade laughed. “So, why is Professor X so damned patient?”

  “X knows my situation and he really doesn’t want to come in the game third in the lineup. I really can’t blame him.”

  “Yeah Queen, but most men would go ahead and hit that shit until they got tired of playing and then would just move along. What makes him so damn different?”

  “I don’t know, but he saved my ass last week by saying no. I’ve had a serious case of jungle fever lately. You should have seen my face when I came home that night and found Logic naked in my bed.”

  “Yeah, God was looking out for your ass that night.”

  “God looks out for me every night and I pray that tonight is no exception.”

  “So what do you
think that they are going to do?”

  “Who, Logic and Teddy? They’re going to pin my ass in a corner and force me to tell one of them to go to hell, that’s what they plan to do.”

  “So what are you going to do?”

  “Jade I could no more choose between those two men than I could choose between my right and left tit. I don’t want to lose either one of them.”

  “Well, then you’d better be prepared to lose both, because I think ‘Off with the Queen’s fuckin head!’ was the decision they made at their little meeting.”

  “Then so be it. Maybe that is why X is really still hanging around. I don’t know. All I know is that it felt good to finally get it off my chest that Teddy and I were lovers. I slept like a baby afterward.”

  “I’m sure you did, but you know that you really didn’t tell Logic something that he didn’t already know?”

  “I know, but it felt good to have everything on the table. Well almost everything.”

  “He knows all he needs to know, keep the info about Professor X to your damn self.”

  “I didn’t tell you that he alluded to the fact that he did a little creep of his own.”

  “He did what? With who? Oh hell to the no! What did you say?”

  “Jade what could I say. Over the past year I’ve fucked Teddy more than I’ve fucked my own fiance. What could I possibly say? I just let it fly by.”

  “Fly by my ass! What exactly did he say?”

  “He just said that he didn’t always do the right thing either. So I took that to mean that in his frustration he messed around a little too.”

  “How are you just going to let shit like that fly by? Did you lose your damn mind? That man is too fine, too rich and too good of a man to let him slip up and fall into the wrong koochie.”

  “Jade, again, what could I say? I’m juggling more dick than a Richard Convention. I have to choose my battles and this was one that I couldn’t win, so I let it go without a word.”

  “Okay, Ms. Let It Go, when another bitch is in your mansion spending all of your millions I’m going to see if you’re willing to let it go then.”

  “Probably not, but I brought all of this bullshit on myself. When I’m ready to go one hundred percent in I know he’ll be ready to go in with me, so I’m not going to worry about it. It probably was some Vegas hooker or stripper or some shit. Whatever, it didn’t mean shit. It was just sex. Logic loves me and that’s all that matters.”

  “I hope you are right, because you don’t want the wrong gold digging skank to get her mouth on that twenty four karat dick. You’ll never get her out of your bed or your head.”

  “I don’t think I’ll have a problem as long as I keep my head from between Bear’s legs.”

  “I don’t know, Teddy has a twenty four carat swizzle stick of his own, so it might not be a bad trade off.” Jade teased.

  “Yeah, you’re right about that.” Queen laughed though she wasn’t as confident about the insignificance of Logic’s little indiscretion as she was earlier.

  Chapter 2

  Queen was stunned to discover that Teddy had decided to throw a party at Queen’s Palace. Until now, Queen’s Palace was strictly off limits to everyone except the two of them. It was their little secret. Hell, Jade and Dorian had never even been invited to Queen’s Palace. She knew this was Teddy’s way of making a clear statement, but she just wasn’t clear what he was trying to say.

  As the parking valet announced, “Welcome to My Queen’s Palace! May I park your vehicle?” It didn’t take Logic long to figure it out.

  Logic’s jaw instantly became as tight as a damn drum and Queen knew that it was about to be a long night. She tried to play it off but it was virtually impossible. Queen’s Palace was a magnificent display of Teddy’s wealth, arrogance and his devotion to his Queen. And frankly it instantly rubbed Logic the wrong damn way.

  “Wow My Queen’s Palace is the shit! He really laid out a lot of money on this one. I wonder where he came up with the concept for that name. You have to admit that it is a very catchy name.”

  “Let it go Logic.” Queen coolly replied instantly realizing why Teddy chose Queen’s Palace as the site for his party.

  “So exactly which one of these rooms belongs to you, Mye Queen?” He sarcastically asked, unwilling or unable to let it go.

  “Please, don’t start Logic. Let’s just have a good time.” She pleaded as they climbed the grand staircase to the front door of the mansion.

  “No I’m serious. I know you’ve got your own room here, which one is it.” He insisted.

  “Logic, I thought we had buried all this bullshit earlier. Why are you acting like this? Come on this is not why we came here. Let’s enjoy ourselves.”

  “And we will right after you answer the question.”

  Queen becomes peeved by the fact that Logic just wouldn’t let it go. She abruptly stops on the steps to confront him. “Okay, do you want to know which room belongs to me? You sure you want to know?”

  “Yeah, I’m positive I want to know. In fact I need to know.”

  “Alright, they’re all mine. Every damn room! The tennis court, the basketball court, the pool house, the fitness center and the recording studio… everything you see here all belongs to me. I own Queen’s Palace. The Deed is in my name and my name alone. Bear bought it for me.”

  “He did what?”

  “I said Bear bought Queen’s Palace for me. Damn it Logic! Why couldn’t you just leave it alone.”

  “Wow, that’s some amazing dick sucking! I don’t know what to say…”

  “Logic! What the fuck is wrong with you? Please don’t start this bullshit here tonight. I thought we had settled this. You are the one who wanted to come, not me. Now that we’re here you’re going to act like this… You know what? Fuck you and this! I don’t have to take this shit from you or Bear… Fuck both of you.” Queen exploded.

  “Queen, alright I admit that I was out of line. It just caught me off guard and shit. Do you have any clue how much a place like this cost in LA?”

  “Of course I know how much it cost. It belongs to me. Oh I see what the problem is… The real problem is that you thought that I was just another fuck to Bear. It bothers you to find out that he really loves me. And I get that, but don’t fuckin call me a hoe, because you are jealous!”

  “Queen I didn’t call you a hoe. Calm down!”

  “Calm down my ass! When I was calm you just kept picking at me. You just wouldn’t or couldn’t let it go! You know what… You’re right, you didn’t call me a hoe. You actually called me a prostitute!”

  “Come on, you know that I didn’t mean it.” Logic responds as he attempts to hug Queen to calm her down, but she wasn’t having it.

  “Get the fuck off of me Logic. You think that because I admitted that I fucked up you can treat me this way. Well I got news for you…”

  “Queen I’m sorry, I let my jealousy and my ignorance speak for me. What I said was mean spirited and out of character for me and you know that. I apologize. Please forgive me.” Logic begged as he attempted again to no avail to pull Queen into his arms.

  Queen looked away as her eyes filled with tears. Jade was right, chances are she would lose both of them tonight. It hurt and the pain resonated to the very core of her existence and she didn’t know quite how to deal with it. As she wiped the steady trail of tears that had began to seep from the wells of her eyes she spotted Teddy at the top of the staircase looking on. He quickly descended the stairs to meet them.

  “Is everything okay?” He asked as he approached.

  “Yeah, everything is fine… Right Queen?” Logic quickly answered.

  Queen could not even look at Logic anymore, because she was so upset. She remained silent as she watched Jade and Dorian ascending the steps towards them. They looked concerned as well. Queen drew a deep cleansing breath, wiped her face and walked away from Logic without a word.

  As she passed Teddy on the staircase he could see the pain in her face
and the tears in her eyes. She wanted him to comfort her but she knew that wasn’t an option so she continued up the steps in an effort to pass him without speaking.

  Teddy stepped in front of her and stopped her in mid stride. “What happened? What did he do?”

  “Nothing, everything is okay.”

  “Then why are you crying?”

  “I’m okay Bear. We just had an argument.”

  “About what?” He asked as he watched Logic observing them from several steps down.

  “Bullshit… Look, everything is okay now. I got to go fix my face.”

  “Why what’s wrong with it?” Teddy asked as he wiped a tear from her cheek. “You look stunning Mye Queen.”

  “Am I?”

  “Are you what, stunning? Of course you are.”

  “No, am I still your Queen?”

  “Queen, you know you are. Why would you ask me that?” Teddy’s deep sultry voice answered with no reservation. He looked deep into Queen’s eyes longing to kiss her. Unable to do this without whipping Logic’s ass he settled for a hug instead as he saw Logic draw near. “I love you. You know that and nothing is going to change that. Go to your suite to freshen up. I’ll meet you there in five minutes.” He whispered in her ear as Logic approached the two of them.

  Queen continued up the stairs and Jade struggled to catch up with her. “Queen, wait up. Don’t make me run up the stairs in these damn heels.” She called after her.

  As Queen turned around to wait for Jade she momentarily locked eyes with Logic who had been detained by Teddy. He looked as distraught as she felt. Teddy and Dorian attempted to distract him and cheer him up but he couldn’t take his eyes off Queen. Queen turned and continued up the stairs as Jade finally caught up.

  “Girl, you got me out here running in these damn designer heels. Have you lost your mind? What’s wrong?”

  “Follow me and I’ll tell you.”

  “Oh shit… Here we go!”

  By the time Queen and Jade made their way through the waves of people and the maze of rooms to Queen’s suite Queen was so angry she could hardly speak. As the door closed and locked behind them she exploded like a weapon of mass destruction.
